Bittersweet experience

I just picked up my bicycle from the shop who assembled it and was very pleased as to its appearance. I wanted the matte color frame and black components to make a "sleeper" statement and the bike does just that. I ordered the 18 tooth freewheel cog to lower the gear ratio so that my old 85 year old knees would be happier.
Unfortunately, I will be unable to ride the bike as I was unable to throw my leg over the saddle and top tube while at the bike shop and fell while trying. Just one more thing I'm having to give up as a result of old age. Someone on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace is going to greatly enjoy this bike at a discounted price. Sad but accepting life in Folsom.

First off, I'm so sorry to hear this and hope you are ok after the fall. Reading your review genuinely made me want to reach out. It sounds like you had a clear vision for this bik and I hate that you didn't get the opportunity to enjoy it.

Getting older sometimes means adapting the way we do the things we love, but it doesn't necessarily mean giving them up entirely.

Love the bike! 4 stars for customer service interaction

I love my bike, 10/10 amazing machine!

But….My bike arrived with a handlebar end cap that had fallen off and when I reached out to customer service asking to see if they could just shoot me one out in the mail their response was:

“ You would be better off just finding one at your local bike shop. We do not carry those individually on our website.”

Disappointing as it would be a very simple, very cheap request to fulfill.

This is my second 4130 fixed gear from state bicycle. Was riding 25mm and 28mm tires for 9 years, on my road bike and fixed gear. Can't wait to try it on trails. Thank you State Bicycle.

Was unsure if I was going to enjoy biking so I got a cheap used bike and then decided it was time to take the jump into a good bike. And boy did I pick a great bike. Now my sister and myself are comfortable riding and on the same bike. Comfortable. Fast. Beautiful.

La gamme 4130 Steel doit son nom à l’acier au chrome-molybdène de grade 4130 à double butée utilisé sur le cadre et la fourche, qui optimise la robustesse sans compromettre le poids. Désormais doté d’une géométrie entièrement repensée pour accueillir de plus gros pneus et équipé de supports de fourche et de haubans pour porte-bagages, il est parfait pour toutes les utilisations.

Équipé au choix d’un guidon de route « All-Road Gravel Drops » ou « Wide Risers », de roues compatibles tubeless avec des pneus 38x700c, lacées à un moyeu « flip-flop » à roulement scellé. 

Ce vélo est extrêmement robuste et polyvalent, et les cyclistes peuvent profiter de la simplicité d’une seule vitesse – réputée pour sa fiabilité et sa facilité d’entretien.
