The Rigby is my second of three State Bicycles.
The Rigby is just so much fun to ride. I ride to work and there are times when I just keep riding…I get into this vibe and, anyway… Super bike. Lots of compliments on its classic vintage look. Handles beautifully. Great company, great bike.

Fixie for my son-in-law

My daughter and her husband are pretty well provided with bicycles: road bikes, mountain bikes, but he did not have anything comparable to her cruiser (a 1963 Schwinn Hollywood). I recommended a fixie/single speed. This is an early Christmas present for him. Assembly was easy w proper tools (agree w pro assembly for inexperienced. $150 is pretty steep for 30-45 minute job!). Ride is nice except crappy saddle which we replaced. Weight is reasonable for a steel frame. Note that chain tensioners necessitate a 4mm Allen key to fix a rear flat.
He loves it! He’s used it as a single speed so far but I expect he’ll try the fixed gear sometime soon. No pressure! Now all they need is a pair of gravel bikes!

I was surprised how quickly this bike gets to a comfortable 17-20 mph speed. I commute about 12 miles one-way to work enjoying several different bikes. Even with the mild hills, the net commute time was only a few minutes off from the road bike. I have about 100 miles on this bike over the past few weeks and already the strength in my legs from riding a single speed is paying off on the quicker, lighter fast bikes.

It's amazing

This bike is perfect. I initially purchased it because as a 5'0" person, its really hard to find an affordable bike that fits. But turns out I walked right into the best decision ever. I'm in love with my bike. It's such a comfortable ride, its beautiful, and it's also very easy to move in and out of my apartment (I'm too attached to leave it on the bike rack at my apartment). I'm so glad I bought this bike and I'm looking forward to riding it all over chicago for years to come. My ONLY regret is I wish I would've waited like five days to purchase bc I missed the back to school "free gift" sale!

Best value in a solid ridable bike ever.

I don't know how they’re able to charge so little and get so much performance out of a bike, but they're doing it. This little blue bike (with its incredibly useful freewheel on the flip-flop hub), is absolutely perfect for cruising the path comfortably through town in the mornings and grabbing a post ride cafe, and in a refreshingly low-key, casual, non-flashy way. I mounted some 32s on it for the sketchy gravel sections and they fit with room to probably go up to 38s. Nice and smooth on the bumpy trail. …then geeked out a little and added a few of my favorite classic campy bits. Everything installed just fine, this is a very well made solid frameset. I wish it came with a mustache bar, but for now flipping the bullhorn upside down will do the job lol. Great bike, incredible value. Thanks State!
